My son wants Broadband but most of the options he checked require a BT land line.
Apart from Virgin Media is there any other option?

i have a crappy dial up connection using my phone as a modem and i think its about time to upgrade. I play alot of MW2 on ps3 and am tired of getting disconnected all the time. So can someone tell me wheres the cheapest broadband around?
If you can find a Comcast door to door rep there always the cheapest. They have promotion programs that are $14.00 a month up to a year.
I would like to get broadband on my laptop when I am travelling around America on holiday but do not want to use Internet cafe’s or Wi-Fi Hot spots as I will be in remote locations. What is the cheapest way to achieve this?

The only way then would be a mobile network broadband service similar to what we have in the UK. But what ever you do don’t get one in the UK to use over there. You will be charged International Rates which is about £3 per Mb.
Get it from a mobile company over there on a pay as you go otherwise you will have to pay for a 12 month contract.
God, it sucks. It is slower than dial-up, but in this damn economy, it is the only thing my parents found that they can afford. I also need tips on convincing my dad to get cheaper service.

it starts slowing down when they are three ppl on it..e.g my brother on the desktop computer, me on my laptop, and my bf on my touch
I am currently with tiscali paying 14.99 a month with 2 mb boradband. I do face problems with it sometimes so planning to change it to some other provider…thanks in advance!
To be honest i am on tiscali too and have also considered changing recently, but i have found that £14.99 unlimited cant be beaten without dramatically reducing the quality of service you get. To get anything descent you will have to pay more.
I used Toucan, they have an excellent broadband / phone package at a good price.
Unfortunately they only supply a USB ASDL modem rather than a wireless router but these are cheap on e-bay anyway!
Avoid Tiscali at all costs, they are the worst company i’ve ever had the misfortune to deal with!

Ok so we’re paying around 20 quid a month for unlimited, 8Mb broadband with Orange.
We need something cheap, and the download limit not to be too low, but apparently we’ve never reached above the download limit so we probably don’t need Unlimited anymore.
We have one computer, a Ps3 and sometimes a Wii that connect to the internet too. The computer is online frequently as is the Ps3.
So who’s the best broadband provider?
i used to be with orange but got no service off them, all help is directed abroad didnt have internet for 12 months ,but after scrutinising every provider i opted for o2.£12.50 per month for unlimited broadband plus can have 3 comps conected at the same time .wonderful service and back up although i have never needed them.if you have o2 mobile goes down to £7.50.for all comparisons google internet provides .good luck

Nope, you can’t get faster internet without paying more for faster service.

now we have hardwired service and wireless.
