Which if either would reduce the ammount of my electricity bill?
Typically the microwave is cheaper. Generally it is a 110 appliance plugged into a regular receptacle that is only capable when wired correctly to use 15 amps without burning the receptacle or overloading the circuit. The oven if it is a full size typically is 220 volts wired to pull up to 40 amps . The oven must bring the inside temperature up to the desired degree by preheating then begin heating the product inside causing the oven to be on for longer periods of time drawing larger amounts of amperage and increasing the electric bill. The microwave heats the food instantly by transmitting the wave thru the material heated creating a faster cook. However if you use a small toaster oven you may heat foods very economically.
The microwave is cheaper since it just heats the food, but the Westinghouse oven ends up heating everything in it.
