it’s cheaper to pay the bill, prepayment is a lot dearer. my daughter has a gas and electricity card meter and she found herself in debt with both. if the price of gas/electricity prices go up, your meters should be re-set to the rises, otherwise you will find that over time you will be in debt on them. look on the question and answer pages on the electricity company’s web site, under pre payment meters. good luck.

it is cheaper to pay by bill but if you are not great at paying bills then the prepaid option is great as it means you cannot get yourself into trouble.

It depends. Do the terms of the prepaid card allow for a discount on gas? If you opt for a bill, what are the terms of the credit? If you do not receive a discount with the prepaid card and there is no interest for at least the first month on the bill option, the bill is better because you could earn interest on your money if you hold onto it a little longer.

most likely cheaper to pay the bill, either by mail or in person. re you aware that when you use your prepaid card to buy anything or to pay a bill that you are charged a service fee……you pay sometimes from the company that services your card and sometimes the place that you use the card. netspend is one of them and you can go online to check the status of the card for free or when you call to check the balnce they charge $1 or $2 per call…. i found this out and saved up my $$ and got a secured credit card, better deal… on a prepaid card even when you add money to it they charge a fee……………..

By paying the bill. The credit card billing will have interest on it and fines if the payments are late or not made.

There is a percentage added when you pay by pre paid card or key. (service charges apparently) It’s cheaper to pay by bill or direct debit. Funny how the poor loses out again isn’t it?

Without a doubt, the ‘paying bill’ option is the cheapest. Email me back if you’d like to know how to further reduce your bill.
