Hi I’m with scottish power for my gas in a one bedroom apartment and I spend £780 a year and I’m with powergen for electricity and I spend £780 a year I was wondering is british gas cheaper

You spend HOW MUCH??

I pay £1200 per year in total for gas and electricity (that’s together, not each) for a 4 bed house with a family of 5.

I am moving to British Gas for both my supplies, having been "Locked in" (can not leave them while I owe money) by Powergen after THEY cocked up my billing on a Pay as you go card meter they "forgot" to reset. (long story)

British gas’s current tarifs are cheapest for me in a 2 bedroom flat. If you are paying £780 a year, you need to look SERIOUSLY at your power consumption, that is very very high. My gas is aprox £360 a year, electricity about £500. It could pay you to have a look at where all that power is being used, tumble dryer ? heating on all day ? something somewhere there is hugely over-consuming on the energy.

Scottish Power looked like a good offer, but there were other charges and once you transfer to them, thier prices rise substantialy after a year. They offer "free lightbulbs" as in incentive…. Which only cost about £1.75 each in the shops anyway.
