Wind energy is one of the ways we’re working to fulfill our promise of helping Walmart customers save money so they can live better. Walmart generates some of the power for 360 of it’s Texas stores and facilities with clean, renewable energy from wind farms. This helps us avoid the financial spikes in electricity prices that result from the volatility of fossil fuels, and it helps us make a difference for the environment.

The term wind energy home is being used more and more to reflect the growing needs of some people to source alternative energy for residential use.
It is much easier and less expensive in the short term to connect into your local electricity company’s power grid than it is to set up and hook into energy produced by wind turbines. However in the long run you should be able to save money by utilising wind power for most of your energy needs. As an added bonus you will become more independent as a stand alone unit. It is also worth mentioning the fact that not receiving an electricity bill while still enjoying the advantages of the modern electrically-driven lifestyle is a great feeling.
Electricity bills and fuel bills generally are rising steadily, with no sign of this changing. The ongoing cost of wind turbine energy is pretty much zero. While the cost of installing and connecting up to a wind turbine is steadily coming down as demand rises and supplies increase in line with this increased demand. Add to that the fact that research and improved technology make wind turbines ever more efficient and affordable. People now want to move away from the traditional electricity supply grids which often use up fossil fuels. This is, of course, for personal reasons which include the desire for greater independence, the desire to live remotely or rurally and not forgetting political motives with increased concerns about the environment. This motivation to move away from the traditional energy sources is the same one that causes people to seek the power of the wind for their energy.
In many countries, to a greater or lesser degree, homeowners who choose alternative power sources, including wind energy, are often eligible for tax rebates. In addition, there are places where these homeowners are allowed to sell their excess energy production back to the power company. In these circumstances it can be seen that the lucky homeowners are in fact profiting from their own energy production. A sensible move!!
Throughout most industrialised countries national governments are pushing to get a range of tax incentives on to the statute books. As might be imagined, there are many power and utility companies who feel that it is unfair that they should have to pay commercial rates to private individuals who are producing excess energy. These companies are also expected to suffer reduced short term profits. Not an easy situation to be in.
Depending where you are in the world {some countries have more consistent wind than others}energy produced from your own wind turbine is becoming economically viable as well as satisfying the obvious environmental arguments. Wind energy home will continue to be a term discussed and argued over as time goes by.

Many changes have taken place in our country in recent months. With the election of President Obama and a Democratic Congress, more emphasis is being placed on eco-friendly endeavors. We, as a nation, are becoming more serious by the day about developing alternative energy sources.
DIY wind energy is being used throughout the world to create electricity to power homes. It is not only easy to do but it is inexpensive as well. Using wind turbines for residential use are an excellent option for individuals to generate their own electricity. It is not necessary to fill fields with huge wind turbines on a local or national level to begin to use alternative energy sources.
It is amazingly easy to build a residential wind turbine. Windmills, as they are often called, require very little experience to building. Easy to follow plans are available that lay the process out step by step.
A residential wind turbine, or windmill as some people call them, can be built by someone with little to no experience working with their hands. They are surprisingly simple to construct, as long as you have the right plans to follow along with.
A windmill, or wind turbine, uses the power of the wind to generate kinetic, or physical, energy. The wind catches the blades and causes them to turn. This turning motion is the energy source that creates the power that is then stored for use as electricity.
Windmills have been used for generations to turn wind into power. We are all familiar with the windmills in the Netherlands. This is exactly the same concept. Windmills have been the subject of many paintings and photographs. They are interesting and even beautiful to look at, but they have a very practical purpose.
These traditional styled windmills were used to harness the power of the wind to crush grain into flour. We are now using them for a different purpose but the methodology is the same. Wind turbines work very effectively to create the electricity needed to power our homes.
The only difference being that instead of using the power of the windmill to crush grain into flour, we are harnessing it to generate electricity to heat our water and to run our computers, refrigerators, stoves and any number of other appliances.
The vertical wind turbine is much more efficient. There is more space available for extra blades and these extra blades will pick up even a slight breeze. Therefore, you do not need a lot of wind to produce power. Secondly, a vertical wind turbine is smaller and fits in smaller spaces. They can be used on decks and patios in apartments and condominiums.
It is now possible for anyone to create electricity from DIY wind energy with either a traditional wind turbine or a vertical wind turbine. This DIY project will also save you money when it comes time to pay your utility bill each month. As we do our part as individuals to decrease our reliance on fossil fuels and non-renewable resources, we will have a collective impact on improving our environment and decreasing our carbon footprint.
As we have noted in this article there are many, many ways in which we can tap into the power of diy wind energy to create electricity to power our homes. There is also of course, the fact that we will be doing our part to use earth-friendly forms of energy as opposed to nasty fossil fuels that pollute our world.
Homemade Solar Power is one of the best and most efficient solutions to power your household. Along with using homemade solar power, your bills can be reduced by up to 90% in some cases! Solar power converts direct sunlight into electricity using photovoltaics.
Two Problems Associated With Electricity
1.) Electricity that consumers get from power companies are for the most part created from nonrenewable resources. And as resources get slimmer, prices will skyrocket! You know what that means? Higher home energy bills for you!
2.)Prices Will Continue To Rise Overtime: Each and every year, your home energy bill will increase.
Why Should I Convert To Solar Power?
-When your solar system generates electricity, you’ll reduce the amount of electricity you draw off the grid and decrease the amount of carbon emitted into the atmosphere.
-Saving electricity adds major value to your home, about $20 for every $1 reduction in annual utility bills.
-Electricity rates rise an average of 7% per year.
Costs
-Installing solar panels on your home begins around $1,000 and increases with the size of your home. There is a benefit though. If you install and build these panels yourself, the cost is less than half of what it is to buy a solar panel new.
-Installing homemade solar power provides you with FREE energy, and with this solution, you won’t have to pay the big name power companies nearly as much as you used to, and your electricity will continue to be renewable.

One of the main task in researching how to make wind energy is by looking on reliable sources of information. This is much easier today as there are lots of good sites and books on this subject available than before.
You can build your own wind energy source if you have the right guide on how to make one, the funds to do it and the space where to place it.
With the spiraling cost of energy bill, looking for alternative options to save money and make your own energy power is not sound a crazy task anymore. Also, the classical energy sources like fossil fuels are not enough anymore to cover the higher demand for energy once the population grow. Having made your own supply of energy will outcast the expensive of building one and prepare you for the future challenges.
The wind energy can be done if you have a windy site. This one is the main disadvantage of this type of energy. But if you do have one with enough wind to produce you enough energy, than it is a pity not to use it. If you do not have one, using solar energy or other types of alternative energy may be an option for you.
The best sites suitable for wind power are from open spaces, especially from coastal areas. If you have a small garden or lots of trees around your house, is not enough wind to produce energy, making your house unsuitable for wind energy.
To make wind energy you will need a windmill, off course. This is made from a tower and usually five blades. The most costly are the windmills, but nowadays if you have the right DIY guide you can build one yourself. A word of cautions too, you have to take the right safety precautions when installing one. Then you need a wind generator to convert the wind into energy.
Smart meters have caused some controversy recently in America as customers of Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) complained that rather than lowering their gas and electricity bills, the smart meters actually increased utility bills.
The whole point of smart meters is that they are supposed to make customers more energy efficient. The smart meters replace the old analogue energy monitors with a digital display that gives information in real time about how much gas and electricity is being used in the home.
The need for smart meters arises out of a need to modernise and replace an ineffective technology which is a surviving relic of a past era. Old energy meters require regular checks and maintenance from members of the energy companies. The new smart meters will make the current meters defunct.
The real benefit of smart meters though is that customers can use them to monitor their energy consumption and then adapt their practices to reduce their energy bills. The problem with PG&E customers is that their bills were rising despite the implementation of smart meters.
One of the limitations of smart meters is that they are not magic wands, they cannot control electricity prices nor can they make energy cheaper on their own. PG&E said that rising gas and electricity bills had nothing to do with the smart meters but were caused by higher energy prices as a result of a rate hike in March.
A lack of communication on behalf of the company led to confusion and a resultant lack of trust in the smart meters from customers. Company officials from PG&E said: “We should have done a much better job in explaining to customers that this rate increase is taking place when you get into these summer months and start using more energy that could have a dramatic impact on your bills.”
Smart meters are not the issue, rising energy prices are the problem. What was not mentioned by PG&E was that without smart meters, customers’ energy bills would almost certainly have been even higher. The best way to combat increasing electricity prices is to start using technology like smart meters to help make savings wherever possible.
